PNP Acquires 1.2 BILLION PESOS More Equipment Including 22 Units of High Speed Tactical Watercraft

The Philippine National Police has added more police vehicles, watercraft, communication equipment and rifles through its modernization program under PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030.

PNP Chief, Police General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan witnessed and led the blessing and send-off of newly-acquired PNP equipment and police vehicles this morning in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

PNP Bids and Awards Committee Chairman, Police Major General Emmanuel Luis Licup presented to the PNP Chief the newly procured equipment consisting of : 

• 11 units Shuttle Bus

• 22 units High-Speed Tactical Watercraft, 

• 355 units Patrol Jeep Single Cab 4x2, 

• 5,767 units Galil Ace 22N 5.56mm Basic Assault Rifle and 

• 214 units VHF Lowband Handheld Radio.

Cascolan said this latest procurement program was funded thru the Capability Enhancement Programs (CEPs) 2019 and 2020 and CEP 2019 Balances with a total amount of Php1,221,601,033.

The PNP Chief highlighted that new 11 bus units will be distributed to Police Regional Offices as added transportation assets of their personnel for faster mobilization during essential programs and operations.

The PNP Maritime Group and the PNP Special Action Force will be issued the 22 units High-Speed Tactical Watercrafts to be utilized for preventive patrol and anti-criminallity operations along coastal waters. 

Cascolan assured that new 355 units Patrol Jeep Single Cab 4x2 will be immediately distributed to different municipal police stations across the country to boost their police patrol operations as part of intensified security drive in communities in times of national health crisis. 

The Police Mobile Forces will be the end-users of the 5,767 units Galil Ace 22N 5.56mm Basic Assault Rifle while the 214 units VHF Lowband Handheld Radio will be issued to Communications and Electronics Service, he added.

Coinciding with the ceremonial blessing, the PNP acknowledged the generosity of the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (AFPMBAI) for donating 2 units 2020 Toyota Coaster and one (1) unit Nissan Urvan NV350 Cargo Shuttle worth Php 8,714,000.
