Two Units of 94 Meter Vessel of Philippine Coast Guard Has Started

Remember the Philippines Multi-Role Response Vessels (MRRV) acquisition for the Philippine Coast Guard?

Recently the PCG showed a CGI design of the said MRRV Vessel last July this year, and which the Project awarded through a NOA (Notice of Award) on January 17, 2020,in favor of Mitsubishi Shipbuilding. The said Acquisition Project is worth of PHP 7 Billion pesos for the two units of Multi-Role Response Vessels.

And today in December of this year. A ceremony for the construction of both MRRV, has finally started.

Through a tradition of safe building ceremonies led by the Japan International Cooperation Agency,  the building of the said two 94 meters Multi-Role Response Vessels of the Philippine Coast Guard is now underway.

The Two Multi-Role Response Vessels, has a maximum speed of not less than 24 knots, which can last a distance of 4,000 nautical miles. The two ships are loaded with secured communication surveillance systems for Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) surveillance, helideck and hangar for helicopter operations, underwater remotely operated vehicles for subsurface search and survey, and most importantly they have high-speed rubber boats. which can greatly help with various types of operations.
