The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has demonstrated excellence in anti-terrorism operations, responding to ship fire incidents, and launching search and rescue (SAR) and aeromedical evacuation during the capability demonstration held in Manila Bay on December 3, 2020.
Department of Transportation - Philippines (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade led the activity. This took place after his formal inauguration as a member of the PCG Auxiliary Executive Squadron.
According to the DOTR Secretary, "The Philippine Coast Guard is different now and I know and I can feel that it is because of your patriotism, compassion, and fear of God that you are able to perform far and beyond what is expected of you,"
"PCG - Patriotism, Compassion, God-fearing. This is the Philippine Coast Guard that I want to join. This is the reason why we are here now," the Secretary added.
Secretary Tugade also did not miss this day to personally recognize and thank the brave Coast Guard rescuers who gave their lives to ensure the safety of Filipinos who have been victims of past disasters.
