Naval Forces Northern Luzon (NFNL) had alerted its operational subordinate units and Disaster Response and Rescue Teams (DRRT) this November 11, 2020, in anticipation of the possible onslaught of Tropical Depression Ulysses in its area of responsibility covering Regions I, II and III.
As part of its preparations, the Command ensured the readiness of its disaster response capability. Essential equipment such as M35 and KM450 trucks, 3 rubber boats with outboard motors, generators, cutting tools, and life-saving equipment were inventoried to guarantee a high level of response against the devastating typhoon.
Moreover, its OPCON surface and air assets were on standby and ready for search and rescue operations, if needed.
The Philippine Navy, through the NFNL, is one with the local government units in bringing prompt, responsive and effective assistance to the communities that will be affected by this yet another typhoon amid the ongoing pandemic.
